Oberammergau is a small alpine village that attracted us with its fabulous painted facades of houses. There are only a few narrow streets, but each house is like a work of art. All frescoes are painted very high quality, shadows and contours are worked out.
It seems as if the houses are really decorated with columns, shutters and other decorative elements. These are mainly traditional Bavarian ornaments, stories from fairy tales or religious motives.
