Wood-polymer composite (WPC) building materials have appeared on the construction market relatively recently. They are made by mixing wood with monomers, which are polymerized during the production process to acquire the desired properties. In fact, it is a combination of wood and plastic. The composition includes wood flour and a polymer such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or polyethylene.
WPC, or decking, is a good alternative to wood, stone or brick. The main feature of structures made of this material is that they do not need to be processed. But, this is not the only advantage of the composite.
